I bought these as gifts for my grandchildren. I was not disappointed in them, and the children enjoyed them as well.
Not a particularly easy read. Certainly not for young people. also very short.
American History is an easy read, AND informative. Bought it for my grandson as they don't seem to teach American History in the schools anymore. I think it is important to know what and why our ancestors shaped our country the way they did.
I enjoyed reading of the tales from the past in our country..of people that devoted themselves to the cause of freedom. Several gave their lives and fortunes for the cause of liberty.
This book is fairly well written. It is mainly about people of the civil war and is biased toward the North.
I found wonderful information about my Great Great Grandfather in it under the part about Roosevelt referencing Patrick Spellman. Love it shared with Grandchildren.
From the description, I thought this would be a book for someone my age (NOT TELLING!). The print is larger and the tales are designed for younger readers. I would recommend this for elementary, maybe junior high age students.
